2016: Beating Finland gave a confidence boost for the Brits

Great Britain have experienced some heavy defeats in the Pajulahti Games men’s goalball tournaments, but they managed to beat hosts Finland 5–2 on Friday, though. Great Britain is the only team in men’s tournament that didn’t get ticket to the Paralympic Games in Rio.

– Beating Finland was great for us. It tells we are on a right path, said head coach Faye Dale.

– We practice a lot. We try to keep our defense tight and to take every change we get. I’m glad to see how the players always give 100% on the court, Dale told.

She said their team still has a lot to improve, but this kind of top level tournaments helps their team to progress. Dale thanked the Finns for the invitation to the Pajulahti Games.
