Seven top level events in the Pajulahti Games 2017

Seven disability sports will be represented in the seventh annual Pajulahti Games on 20.–22.1.2017.

In goalball there will be national team tournaments for both men and women. Pajulahti Sports Institute will also host the IBSA Goalball A Division European Championships played on 15.–23.9.2017.

In sitting volleyball there will be women’s national team tournament in the Pajulahti Games. The third top level international tournament of the event is in showdown.

National competitions will be arranged in athletics, judo, powerlifting and wheelchair rugby. In powerlifting and athletics there will be open national championships and in wheelchair rugby there will be a national league tournament. In judo there will be Special Needs Judo tournament in Pajulahti Games.

– In men’s goalball hosts will meet Sweden, Belgium, Lithuania, Great Britain and Germany. Women’s goalball tournament consists five teams: Finland, Spain, Great Britain, Russia and Israel. In showdown we will have a ranking tournament with players from Finland, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden and France. In sitting volleyball I’m expecting a top level tournament between Russia, Netherlands, Hungary, Great Britain and Finland, says Hannele Pöysti, the event manager of the Pajulahti Games 2015.

There will be almost 400 athletes, staff members, officials and referees in this year’s Pajulahti Games.
