The best of Europe present in the 2020 Pajulahti Games sitting volleyball tournament

A match between Russia and Ukraine in the 2019 Pajulahti Games

Five of the top six teams of last year's women's sitting volleyball European Championships will be present in the 2020 Pajulahti Games played in the Pajulahti Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, Lahti, Finland on 17–19 of January. Gold medalist Russia, runner-up Italy and bronze medalist Ukraine will make sure that there will be no lack of quality in the tournament.

Host team Finland will be put up against a giant task if they wish to make it to the semi finals in Pajulahti as they'll be playing in the Group B with Italy and Ukraine. The Group A will consist of Russia, Germany and the Netherlands.

Russia and Italy have already secured their places in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics (although Russia's place is pending on the possible Paralympic ban for country's doping violations). Some of the teams playing in Pajulahti still wish to grab the last remaining spot to Tokyo as the final Paralympic qualification tournament will be played in Halifax, Canada on 25–29 of February. The Pajulahti Games will be a suitable preparation for that tournament.
